More Takedowns RequestedCanon continued its efforts in fighting against infringement, seeking certain toner cartridges removed from Amazon listings.

In U.S.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CB540A, CB541A, CB542A and CB543A toner cartridges sold by AZ Supplies via Amazon.com infringed Canon’s U.S. Patent No. 8,588,646. Canon requested that Amazon remove AZ Supplies’ listings for those products, namely, AZ Supplies’ listings with Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (“ASINs”) B07ZTXDMVR and B07ZTX9TN6.

At the time of this announcement, the above-identified AZ Supplies’ listings were no longer available on Amazon.com.

Throughout the development, sales and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals and expects others to similarly respect Canon’s intellectual property rights.

Due to the large volume of listings being removed from Amazon, Canon will no longer be reporting them weekly. Canon remains committed to filing infringement reports with Amazon, and will continue announcing summaries of its reporting activities quarterly.

Canon is the most diligent of printer OEMs to scrutinise the online listings of aftermarket printer cartridges, particularly on Amazon.

The iconic imaging leader has yet again, used the infringement reporting service offered by Amazon to see thousands of listings removed in the USA.

The “Amazon Reporting Tool” is a service offered by Amazon and does not encompass any official finding of validity or infringement of a patent. Canon says it appreciates the support of Amazon in protecting its intellectual property.
