Canon Continues Fighting Infringement on AmazonCanon continues its efforts in filing report infringement forms with Amazon in Germany, UK, and Canada.

Germany

Canon Inc. filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon.de based on the alleged use of claims 1 of the German portion of Canon’s European Patent EP 2 137 577 (“EP ‘577”) regarding certain models of toner cartridges CF350A, CF351A, CF352A and CF353A offered by Handelsagentur Silhan GmbH under the following ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) B00LIUA50G.

Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the respective OEM HP cartridge models and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing, a non-OEM developing roller, as well as a non-OEM coupling member comprising a rotating force receiving portion and a rotating force transmitting portion according to claim 1 of EP ‘577.

UK

Canon Inc. filed Report Infringement Forms with Amazon UK based on the alleged use of claims 1 and 2 of the UK portion of Canon’s European Patent EP 1 977 289 (“EP ‘289”) regarding the cartridge models CF380X, CF381A, CF382A and CF383A offered by INK XPERTS LTD under the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) B07YZK69R3. Afterwards, Amazon took down the respective products. These products are compatible with the above OEM HP cartridge models CF380X, CF381A, CF382A and CF383A and provide inter alia a non-OEM housing and a non-OEM force receiving device according to claim 1 of EP ‘289. Furthermore, they comprise an elastic portion according to claim 2 of EP ‘289.

Canada

Canon Inc. filed an infringement report with Amazon.ca seeking the removal of an Amazon.ca listing for certain toner cartridges sold by Felix Dupont.

Canon’s infringement report alleged that certain model CF210X, CF211X, CF212X, CF213X, CF210A, CF211A, CF212A and CF213A toner cartridges sold by Felix Dupont via Amazon.ca infringed Canon’s Canadian Patent no. 2,635,791.
