RemaxWorld Expo 2025: Innovation and Trends from Zhuhai

The Global Pulse of the Industry

Every October, returning to Zhuhai for the RemaxWorld Expo feels like checking the pulse of an industry that is constantly transforming. Since its inception in 2007, this event has evolved into the most significant gathering point for the global printing and imaging industry—where suppliers, innovators, and buyers from every corner of the world come together to exchange ideas and shape the future.

The 2025 edition, held from October 16 to 18 at the Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center, brought together over 400 exhibitors and a large number of visitors. The atmosphere was, once again, electric— full of energy, innovation, and conversations that define what’s next for the printing business.

DTF and DTG: The Star of the Show

A walk through the show floor revealed just how broad and dynamic the industry has become. Alongside the familiar displays of consumables, parts, and remanufactured equipment were devices with Chinese brands, including label printers and other specialized devices—a clear sign of expanding market niches.

But this year, one trend stood above the rest: DTF (Direct-to-Film) and DTG (Direct-to-Garment) technologies dominated the spotlight. Exhibitors showcased ever-more versatile and efficient solutions—machines capable of printing on vinyl, cardboard, textiles, and more, paired with upgraded inks and consumables. These innovations underscore the growing driving force from manufacturers to develop complete, in-house solutions.

The prominence of DTF/DTG reflects a fundamental shift in the industry— on-demand production and personalization. Customers increasingly demand shorter, faster, and higher-value print runs. In response, brands are adapting with technologies that allow them to produce only what’s needed—when it’s needed—and in the exact format required. For traditional players in the consumables market, this shift offers both a challenge and a powerful opportunity to redefine their value propositions.

A look at what’s coming

The expo also offered a robust program of summits and panel discussions. I had the privilege of co-hosting the RemaxWorld Summit, where experts from different regions shared insights on topics such as artificial intelligence adoption, the evolution of remanufacturing, and the challenges facing distribution channels.

Representing Latin America, I explained the state of AI adoption in our region and the different realities faced by the key markets. It is clear that while technological adoption varies, the drive towards smarter, more efficient business models is universal.

RT Global Imaging Industry Awards: Celebrating Excellence

A highlight was the RT Global Imaging Industry Awards, celebrating outstanding contributions across the sector. Among the many honors presented, the Diamond Pioneer Award went to David Gibbons, recognizing his remarkable career and leadership in driving the industry forward. It was a heartfelt moment—one that reminded everyone that behind every technological breakthrough, there are passionate individuals dedicated to making a difference.

More than a Trade Show

RemaxWorld Expo 2025 was more than just a trade show—it was a living snapshot of an industry that’s vibrant, adaptive, and future-focused.

Everyone who attended could sense both the state of the business and the profound global changes that lie ahead. However, meeting face-to-face, shaking hands, and seeing innovation up close—these are the moments that continue to inspire growth and collaboration.

For those of us in the global printing industry, Zhuhai remains not just a destination but a rallying point for ideas, innovation, and the future of print.
