OEM Split for Merger

Samsung has announced separating an independent entity from its original company until its merge with HP, Inc. is completed.

According to pulsenews.co.kr, the board of Samsung has agreed to the plan of selling all the stakes and related offshore assets of its printer business to HP. At present, the name of Samsung’s split company is S-Printing Solution and the merge is expected to finish during the second half of 2017.

Kim Ki-ho, who has worked as the head of the Printing Solutions at Samsung Electronics, was appointed CEO of S-Printing Solution. He said that this merger will help the firm seek a new growth engine through integration of product lines and expanding investment.

Based in Korea, S-Printing Solution owns around 50 sales offices across the world. There are about 6,000 employees working at their present positions and its sales revenue last year was 2 trillion Korean won (US$1.8 billion).
