Visitor Interview|Changing Russian Printing Market

This year, RemaxWorld Expo will welcomes first-time visitor Roman Belskiy (Russia), Managing Director of Rus.Support, a company at the forefront of Managed Print Services (MPS) in Russia. Roman brings more than 25 years of IT expertise, including roles at Procter & Gamble and HP Inc., offering a practical and in-depth understanding of the imaging industry.

Q: Could you briefly introduce your professional background in the industry?

A: I’ve been working in IT since 1999, over 25 years now. I’ve worked at major global companies like Procter & Gamble and HP Inc. For the past 8 years, I’ve been the director of Rus.Support, a service company specializing in MPS. We used to be an official HP service partner in Russia, and now we cooperate with G&G, Avision, and Katyusha.

Q: Please introduce your company and main business.

A: My company is called Rus.Support. Until 2022, it was the largest network of authorized HP service centers in Russia. Since then, we have become a service provider and print outsourcing (MPS) company across the Russian market.

Q: Is this your first time attending RemaxWorld Expo?

A: Yes, it’s my first time.

Q: What made you decide to attend this year’s show? What are you hoping to achieve or experience, and are there any specific products you’re looking for?

A: I’m attending to find information on new printers, consumables, and spare parts, and to connect with new suppliers. I hope to learn about new product lines from different vendors and build new business relationships. Specifically, I’m interested in printers, multifunction devices (MFPs), consumables, parts, and software.

Q: What are the biggest challenges and opportunities in the Russian market right now?

A: The departure of major vendors and the rise of new ones. Traditional processes are breaking down, making way for Asian brands like Pantum, Deli, G&G, Avision, and Sindoh. With old players gone, the rules have changed, and competition is intensifying.

Q: Whats your view on Chinese printing brands in Russia and globally?

A: We are a fairly large partner of G&G. I just returned from visiting their office in Zhuhai. We’re planning to deepen our cooperation and help grow their brand in Russia.

Q: What advice would you give to international brands entering the Russian market?

A: Build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with partners in Russia, work together on local projects, develop high-quality service, and promote the brand. For Russian users, many Chinese brands were previously unknown, and the only way to earn recognition is by providing reliable support.

Q: Which types of products or services have the best potential in the Russian market?

A: Multifunction printers (MFPs), printers, and consumables for them. Especially larger printers (A3 format MFPs), provided they offer sufficient reliability and a good cost per page. So far, the entire commercial MPS market in Russia still runs on fleets from HP, Canon, Xerox, Kyocera, etc., because there’s currently nothing equivalent to replace them.

Market is Changing. Chinese Brands Are Rising. Lets Connect at RemaxWorld Expo
