Why Do Buyers Keep Coming Back to RemaxWorld? An Interview with Cristiano Barroco dos Santos from Rio, Brazil
Cristiano Barroco dos Santos, let’s call him Mr Cristiano, has over 30 years of experience in the printing and office industry. As the CEO of Novimpress Soluções Digitais Ltda, he is a loyal attendee of RemaxWorld Expo and values the event as an important platform to discover new technologies and connect with global partners.
With such a wealth of experience and close connection to the event, we wanted to hear Mr. Cristiano’s insights about the industry and the RemaxWorld Expo.
RemaxWorld Team: We heard you’ve been attending RemaxWorld Expo since 2018—is that true?
Mr. Cristiano: Well, my first visit to China was in 2018, but it wasn’t for RemaxWorld Expo at that time. I first attended the RemaxWorld Expo in 2019 and also participated in the RT VIP Imaging Expo in Mexico that same year. After a break due to the pandemic, I returned in 2023 and 2024, attending both RemaxWorld Expo and the Canton Fair. Earlier this year, I also joined the RT VIP Imaging Expo in Buenos Aires. And this October, I’ll be heading back to China to attend RemaxWorld Expo once again.
RemaxWorld Team: What makes you come back so many times?
Mr. Cristiano: I believe in the value of the Expos. They’re more than just business—they’re about people. I’ve built great friendships with my Chinese partners. They are respectful, friendly, and supportive. It’s always a happy experience for me.
RemaxWorld Team: What’s your impression of doing business with Chinese companies? Some people have concerns about quality.
Mr. Cristiano: I think people have different experiences. There are some small companies that may lack resources, support, or innovation. But there are also very strong, well-funded companies with great teams, and others. I don’t speak badly of anyone because I understand how hard it is to maintain a good position in the market. Success depends on the company’s vision and capacity.
RemaxWorld Team: In a rapidly changing world, what do you think is most important for this industry now?
Mr. Cristiano: Innovation. Fast, continuous innovation and embracing new technologies. That’s key to survival and growth.
RemaxWorld Team: What advice would you give to RemaxWorld Expo to adapt and stay relevant?
Mr. Cristiano: RemaxWorld Expo should bring together not only toner and printer companies, but also tech companies—those working on labels, software, facial recognition, notebooks, and more. We need to think ahead. Where do we want to be in five years, in 2030? Just importing or exporting paper and cartridges is not enough anymore. I always say this: We need to evolve.
RemaxWorld Team: You mentioned you visited the Canton Fair in 2023 and 2024—were you looking for something specific?
Mr. Cristiano: Yes, I was looking for innovation and new business opportunities. I’ve been in this market for over 30 years and have witnessed big transformations—like moving from fax to email, analog to digital, and now MPS and compact printers. The future lies in combining technologies—software solutions plus cartridges and printing.
RemaxWorld Team: Any final thoughts?
Mr. Cristiano: There are always opportunities for new business. It all depends on the vision of each company. And yes—I have a different opinion than those who criticize China. I sell other products too, and I even have my own marketing box for promotions. We need to stay open-minded and future-focused.
