Pantum Sees Bright Future in Global Markets

Dr. Li said Patum is aiming to be top 5 printer brand worldwide and top 3 in China within 3 years. In addition to limited players and being the only printer brand from cartridge industry, Dr. Li noted the reason for setting up the goal is that the printer and cartridge markets worldwide are huge.

According to Ninestar Intelligence, total unit shipment of laser printer in 2013 was 40 million across the world and total unit shipment of printer in the same year was 7.8 million in China.

As reported, cartridge is the core of the industry. Report data shows total install base of laser printer is 190 million units globally in 2013. In the toner cartridge segment, OEM is capturing 80% of market share and aftermarket gains 20%. Aftermarket toner cartridge exported from China registered 48 million in shipment in the first half of 2014 (1H2014) and inkjets from China marked 140 million in shipment in the same period.

Further, Dr. Li gave his suggestions at RT Imaging Summit Zhuhai @2014 to those aftermarket companies seeking for breakthroughs. He believes companies should focus on the following elements rather than local compatible brands or price:

• Sustainable growth and profits
• Large market worldwide
