HP Sued for Patent Infringement
Massachusetts-based Rampage LLC has brought another lawsuit in protection of its patent. This time the targets are Hewlett-Packard Company and HP Inc.
Rampage LLC alleged that a software Raster Image Processor (RIP) used in a certain HP Pagewide digital press, directly infringed its US 9,053,410 patent. Rampage LLC filed a lawsuit to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, but did not spell out the specific model(s). The software, namely Harlequin Host Renderer 11, was said to be supplied by Global Graphics.
In April, Rampage LLC filed a lawsuit against Global Graphics SE and Global Graphics Software. Rampage LLC claimed that Global Graphics’ multi-level screening engine for use with a variety of conventional RIPs as well as its Harlequin RIP infringed its ‘410 patent.
