Chinese Industry Reacts to Leader's DeathBinliang Gong (pictured), former Secretary-General of Consumables Committee of China Computer Federation, passed away in a Zhejiang hospital on February 8, 2022, at age of 83.

A forerunner of China printing consumables aftermarket, Gong wrote and published dozens of articles that have influenced the development of China printing consumables aftermarket.

In 2004, Gong filed a request for invalidation of Epson’s “62 ink cartridge patents” (patent 117800) with the Patent Reexamination Board of the State Intellectual Property Office and received an announcement issued by the State Intellectual Property Office, saying that all patent rights are invalid.

“Mr. Gong made tremendous contributions to the development of China printing consumables. In the early stage, Gong created a good atmosphere and a fair competition environment for the development of the industry. Some of his initiatives caused a sensation and became a milestone event that promoted the development of the industry in China. His passing is a great loss to the industry,” said Tony Lee, Secretary-General of Consumables Committee of China Computer Federation and Chairman of RT Group.

RT called the industry to pay tribute to Gong and send condolences to his family.
