Brilliant Imaging Engineer Dies Aged 48Richard Siodora passed away on December 2, 2021, in a Philippine hospital with his wife and family at his side. He was aged 48.

He will be remembered as one of the “engineering greats in the printing consumables aftermarket.”

At the time of his death, Siodora (pictured) was Senior Project Manager and Technical Support Manager in Mito since 2018. To his colleagues, partners and friends, he was a man with great vision and wisdom. He was always very patient and smiling at work.

Due to the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, Siodora was not able to return to his post in China.

“We are shocked to hear from Richard’s family that he passed away during an operation,” said Wendy Duan, General Manager of Mito based in Zhuhai. “We didn’t have a clue what happened to Richard as he never mentioned anything about his illness. His family didn’t want to disclose any information about his death either,”

Duan added that it had been a great honor to work with Siodora. “Everyone in Mito is in mourning over his death. We lost a chummy partner and an outstanding person who always insisted on innovation.”

According to Duan, Siodora’s professional spirit encouraged them to insist on manufacturing high-quality products and to make unremitting efforts for the right things. “I hope his family members can recover from the grief soon. We are also doing our best to fight for some benefits from the insurance for his family members,” Duan added.

Siodora originally worked for Print-Rite, also based in Zhuhai. He worked for more than 10 years from 2007 to 2017 as a project manager.

On hearing his passing, LD Products’ Christian Pepper—President of the Channel Partner Division of LD Products in the USA—told RT Media he was gutted: “This is very sad news indeed.  He was a great friend whom I respected from the outset for his engineering capabilities. I grew to admire his kind and professional nature. He was a very soft-spoken man whose word was his bond. I will miss him dearly. This will be a big loss for many people around the world who have worked with him over the years.”

“Richard was one of these rare people in our industry who had a global reputation and anyone who has worked with Print-Rite, Mito, or the component supply chain in the Chinese aftermarket will know of him, his talent and experience.”
