Canon Sues Another Cartridge Distributor in Russia

According to Canon, it has filed another suit with the Moscow City Economic Court for enforcement of its Russian Federation patent 2467370.

The OEM claimed certain models of cartridges sold on the Russian market under the trademark “Hi-Black” by the distributing company ΟΟΟ “Softtrade”, have infringed its Russian Federation Patent 2467370. So it applied to stop infringement and to collect damages for patent infringement in accordance with Russian law.

In addition, the printer giant noted “Canon respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals and expects others to do the same. Canon remains committed to taking legal action against anyone who does not respect Canon’s intellectual property rights. ”

In August, Recycling Times reported Canon filed a suit against a distributing company X-Com Shop Ltd. before the Moscow City Economic Court to enforce its Russian Federation patent 2467370 covering toner cartridges.
