Xerox, Samsung and OKI Dominated Chinese Government Procurement in 2013

According to a Chinese paper Government Procurement Information, China’s central government has purchased 17,807 printers after 12 tenders in 2013. Xerox, Samsung and OKI topped the winners list.

As reported, the purchase sees expansion in terms of brands and product range and only about a RMB 200-300 price gap between the quotations from different device manufacturers, regardless of quantity. All of these facts indicate severe competition.

Xerox leads in the list of bid winners with 5,599 printers, featuring its A3 monochrome laser products, particularly the DocuPrint 3105. With 6,747 printers, Samsung ranks second and dominates in its A4 devices, especially its CLP-415N. OKI came in third, with 834 printers, the majority of which are A3 color laser models such as the Model C831dn.
