White Toner Technology of OKI Wins Awards

OKI reported that its white toner technology, utilized in the C711WT LED printer, won the “Best in New Technology” prize at the Euro Trophex awards in Birmingham, UK, January 12-14.

Harry Takahashi, Managing Director of OKI Europe, said “With our new LED printer, we are set to mainly expand. Up until now, it has been a highly specialized, niche ‘white printer’ market. Over many years, OKI has built much of its success on technology innovation. As we partner with TheMagicTouch, and with our new white toner products, we have once again created a major opportunity for customers to improve their competitiveness. Our products are making the most of their ability to print a broader range of high quality materials in-house.”

Mr. Jürgen Hagedorn, CEO of TheMagicTouch, added, “For garment applications, OKI’s new dry toner technology represents a major step forward in convenience. However, for non-fabric applications such as trophy and award products it is the beginning of a totally new era. The C711WT printer will change image transfer applications.”

OKI’s partner, TheMagicTouch, created the toner technology and won two awards on behalf of the two companies. The other award was given to “Best in Image Transfer” for an image of daredevil Felix Baumgartner. The ceremony celebrated “the first color LED printer with white toner added”.
