Canon China and Oce China Complete Merger

Canon China officially announced its merger with Océ China and the formation of a professional headquarters for printing products. Mr. Ozawa Hideki, CEO of Canon China, explained, “The merger between Canon China and Océ China is an advantageous combination. It will expand the scope of our products, bring our respective sales channels together and enhance the capability of innovation.”

In 2009, Canon and Océ jointly declared their efforts to accomplish a merger. After three years of preparation, Canon now reveals that the merger has been completed and establishment of a headquarters for the printing products of both partners is officially underway.

During the event, Canon released 6 Océ multifunctional Arizona UV flatbed printers. These products will expand the product category of Canon’s image transfer business. In addition, Canon released a series of new printers having either 8 or 12 colors with enhanced image stability. Further, 4 MFPs are now being offered in a new product series.

Mr. Aart Jacobi, Dutch Ambassador to China, said he appreciated the favorable economic environment for the multinational firms in China. The cooperation between Canon and Océ is an outstanding example, said Mr. Jacobi, adding his hope that there would be more innovation coming as a result of the cooperation among the two multinational firms, academia and government.
