Three Time Winner Achieves Security Chip Recognition

Apex Microelectronics (Apex) has won second prize at the prestigious Science & Technology of Guangdong Awards during the Guangdong Science and Technology Innovation Conference for its integrated circuit security chip project.

It’s the third time Apex has won the award, having been successful in 2012 and 2016.

Hosted by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, the awards seek out individuals and enterprises that have made an outstanding contribution to natural science and technology innovation.

Apex has had more than ten years of technical background and capability in IC chip design. It has now successfully extended its expertise from printer cartridge chips to printer controller SoC and launched the universal MCU, Bluetooth low consumption SoC, and network communication security chip.

The high-performance MCU for printer SoC awarded performs steadily for encryption and authentication, calculation and control applications. It is characterized by the advanced technological level in universal supplies industry with no less than 200MHz of chip main frequency, integrated USB that be convenience for program update, as well as the security architecture for integrated national encryption algorithm. All the above features have not only improved security and protection on product information but also provides a strong verification basis for the breakthrough in domestic printer controller SoC.

Holding independent intellectual property rights is particularly important for the priority fields of high-tech industrialization, while the security chip based on Xuantie 910 RISC-V CPU has obtained a total of eight patents, including six invention patents, one computer software copyright, and one integrated circuit layout design registration.
