Samsung Seeks Injunctions to Protect its Key Patents in Germany

The Recycler reports that Samsung asked for preliminary injunctions against 7 German resellers in the Munich District Court and that request has been fulfilled. In this case, Samsung sued those resellers for the distribution of illegal newly-built toner cartridges, which are regarded as unlicensed non-OEM toner cartridges.

As was stated by Samsung, those toner cartridges, called new-builds, infringe its key patents in the German market; it has recently applied for preliminary injunctions in Germany.

Also, Samsung revealed it has filed several patent infringing lawsuits against new-build toner cartridge resellers in Germany to “protect the rights and interests of consumers and companies that produce and sell eco-friendly remanufactured toner cartridges”.
