RSVP Recycles Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones

RSVP, a local non-profit organization in Ellensburg, Seattle, cooperates with Volunteer Center of Kittitas County to recycle cell phones and ink jet printer ink cartridges.

The organization has been recycling cell phones and printer ink cartridges since 2003. During the past 10 years, RSVP has worked with more than 200 businesses and numerous residents, with 21,976 small cartridges and cell phones and 9,863 large cartridges collected and recycled.

RSVP sends the items for recycling and the Volunteer Center sends RSVP a donation check once a quarter. The project helps save cell phones and ink cartridges from landfills.

Carol Findley, RSVP Director, says more residents are becoming aware of the importance of recycling these items and are bringing them in.
