Printing Inks Market to Grow at 5% CAGR

Transparency Market Research has released a market report saying the global printing inks market is projected to reach US$ 20.17 billion by 2020, expanding at a CAGR of 5.0% between 2014 and 2020.

According to the report, the water-based printing inks market is expected to be the fastest growing segment during the forecast period. Global demand for environmentally-safe printing inks such as water-based printing inks and UV-cured printing inks is estimated to increase at a rapid rate in the next few years. Currently, oil-based printing inks and solvent-based printing inks account for a major portion of the printing inks market; however, growth in water-based printing inks is anticipated to overshadow the market share of the two segments in the next six years.

The increasing demand for printing inks in flexible packaging and commercial printing will drive the printing inks market in North America in the next six years. Accelerated by the rising demand for printing inks in Asia, such as India and China, Asia Pacific is anticipated to be the fastest growing region and its market share will grow significantly in the printing inks market in the next few years. Other factors such as steady economic recovery in the U.S. and Europe and higher demand for printing inks in RoW are estimated to propel the global printing inks market.

As the report introduces, the key players in printing inks industry include Sun Chemical Corporation, Flint Group, Siegwerk Druckfarben AG & Co. KGaA, TOYO Ink Group, Sakata INX Corporation, ALTANA AG, Huber Group, T&K TOKA Corporation, Wikoff Color Corporation, Zeller+Gmelin GmbH & Co. KG and Royal Dutch Printing Ink Factories Van Son.
