New Canon Laser Multifunction Printers Launched

Canon has launched four new color laser multifunction printers (MFPs) and one monochrome laser MFP.

Its imageCLASS lineup includes the Color imageCLASS MF729Cdw/ MF726Cdw (MF700 series) and MF628Cw/ MF624Cw (MF600 series) models, as well as the imageCLASS MF217w.

For the first time on the imageCLASS printer range, Canon claims these new models provide wireless, mobile and cloud connectivity to address the needs of modern offices and home office environments. Further, all four color models support the recently announced Canon PRINT Business application (app), available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The MF729Cdw and MF726Cdw models add enhanced support for Near Field Communication (NFC) technology built into Canon PRINT Business, which allows a user to print a document by touching an NFC-supported Android phone or tablet to the printer.

Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. said: “In today’s connected world, professional users are accessing more information in more places, and it is imperative that a printer enhances–but not complicates–this process.” He added, “The new Color imageCLASS models in particular have been designed to work for customers by connecting with most of today’s mobile devices, offering the most modern connectivity methods and enabling many customers to scan documents directly into their popular cloud storage systems, with the added simplicity of a new color touch interface.”

Specifically, the Color imageCLASS MF 729Cdw and MF726Cdw are four-in-one wireless multifunction models, featuring 3.5-inch LCD color touch screen display, color and black-and-white printing at up to 21 ppm, scan&copy&fax support, and two-sided versatility. Furthermore, users can scan files directly to an email or shared folder, utilize a secure print mode that requires password entry to release the job and print via Mopria™Print Service or Google Cloud Print**.

The Color imageCLASS MF 628Cw and MF624Cw share the same features with the MF700 series, but slightly different in printing speed which is only up to 14 ppm.

The imageCLASS MF217w combines print, scan, copy and fax into one compact device, with a printing speed up to 24 ppm. It also supports Mopria™ Print Service and the Canon PRINT Business application to help streamline document workflow.

Being part of Canon’s Generation Green program, all five machines are environment-friendly. The MF726Cdw, MF628Cw and MF624Cw models will be available through select retailers, e-tailers, resellers, direct marketers and Canon Direct, and the MF729Cdw will be sold exclusively through resellers and direct marketers.
