Lease Renewal Brings Relief to Workers

The Clover Imaging Group (CIG) has renewed its lease on its factory and research site in Van Nuys, Los Angeles (the former MSE facility) until the end of 2019.

According to ENX magazine, the Van Nuys facility will continue to be a vital provider of manufacturing and packaging for the company. The facility is an important center for researching and developing color and monochrome toner as well.

CIG’s global EVP sales and marketing—Luke Goldberg commented, “This facility remains integral to our manufacturing, sales, customer support, and distribution strategy. The Van Nuys facility will continue to serve as a critical element in our ability to deliver CIG quality products and services to our customers in the western U.S. and to global markets.”

In May, 205 staff were they would lose their jobs in June with the work being transferred to the company’s Mexico plant. News of the lease renewal will bring job security certainty to the workers at the Van Nuys facility.

The Van Nuys plant was acquired by Clover in July, 2014 as part of the acquisition of MSE (Micro Solutions Enterprises) but continued to operate under the MSE name until February when it became Clover’s California operation. MSE had been in San Fernando Valley for nearly 20 years, dedicated to the recycling production of used printer toner cartridges.
