Konica Minolta Returns to Profit in Q3 on Restructuring Gains
Konica Minolta reported its third-quarter results for fiscal year 2025, marking a return to operating profitability despite a decline in revenue. For the nine months ended December 31, the company posted consolidated revenue of ¥781.1 billion ($4.98 billion), down 6.1% year on year, reflecting a challenging demand environment across several markets.

Operating profit for the period reached ¥33.3 billion ($0.21 billion), compared with an operating loss of ¥18.5 billion a year earlier. The improvement was primarily driven by restructuring initiatives, cost reductions and a stronger focus on profitability, which more than offset the impact of lower sales.
Within printing-related businesses, including office and professional printing, Konica Minolta continued to face softer equipment demand during the period. Hardware sales remained weak in China and the US. Non-hardware demand, including consumables and services, also stayed subdued in Europe, reflecting slower economic activity and deferred investment decisions.
Nevertheless, profitability within the printing business improved, supported by price optimization measures and the continued effects of structural reforms, helping to mitigate the impact of lower volumes.
Looking ahead, Konica Minolta maintained a cautious outlook for the remainder of fiscal year 2025, noting increasing tariff costs, deteriorating US market, and other factors. The company expects continued benefits from restructuring and cost discipline to underpin profitability, while demand conditions across its businesses remain mixed.
