Konica Minolta Develops Mobile Print Solutions with Lantronix

Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced its partnership with Lantronix, Inc., under which it will add the Lantronix xPrintServer Cloud Print Edition to its EnvisionIT portfolio.

According to Konica Minolta, the Lantronix xPrintServer Cloud Print Edition is a “plug-and-print” solution which allows users to print directly to a networked bizhub MFP or printer from Chromebooks™ and Android™ smartphones, tablets and Kindle Fire devices.

Users need not install special software or applications. The company says the xPrintServer solution features automatic discovery and printer setup, practical for any office, school or hospital. Also, it embeds Konica Minolta’s print drivers, or PDDs, for user authentication and Secure Print capabilities. The Cloud Print Edition has been certified by Google to support cloud print technology.

Kevin Kern, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Konica Minolta Business Solutions USA, Inc. stated, “With businesses embracing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies, it’s imperative that users have access to mobile printing directly from the devices they use the most. Our customers can count on Konica Minolta to provide them with a range of mobile solutions, such as the xPrintServer, designed to support the needs of today’s mobile users without sacrificing data security, ensuring that confidential information is protected.”

“Konica Minolta is a global leader in delivering state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions to help customers capture, access, manage and print documents across a range of devices from office MFPs to mobile devices,” says Kurt Busch, President and CEO of Lantronix. “Lantronix is thrilled to partner with the world’s number one customer loyalty brand to deliver our award-winning xPrintServer family of easy-to-use, secure mobile device printing solutions to Konica Minolta bizhub customers worldwide.”
