HP Printing Revenue Dropped Amid Overall Q2 Growth
HP Inc. recently announced its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2025.
The company reported net revenue of US$13.2 billion for the latest quarter, reflecting a 3% increase year-over-year and a 5% rise when adjusted for constant currency. The Personal Systems division was the primary growth driver, generating US$9.024 billion—an impressive 7.1% improvement. In contrast, the Printing division brought in US$4.181 billion, marking a 4.3% decline.
From a regional perspective, the Americas remained HP’s largest revenue generator, accounting for 44% of total income. The Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region followed with a 33% share, while the Asia Pacific market contributed 23%. Since the second quarter of 2024, all regions have shown positive momentum, with Asia Pacific demonstrating the strongest and fastest-growing trajectory.
Within the Printing segment, revenue contraction was observed across commercial printing, consumer printing, and printing supplies. However, hardware sales within this category managed to buck the trend, rising 1% year-over-year. This modest uptick was driven by strong demand for Big Tank models in the consumer market and A3/A4 devices in the commercial space.
Operating profit reached US$814 million, a 0.5% increase, underpinned by disciplined cost management, strategic pricing initiatives, and support from grant funding.
“In Q2, we delivered solid revenue growth, led by strong Commercial performance in Personal Systems and continued momentum behind our future of work strategy,” said Enrique Lores, President and CEO, HP Inc. “While results in the quarter were impacted by a dynamic regulatory environment, we responded quickly to accelerate the expansion of our manufacturing footprint and further reduce our cost structure. These decisive actions strengthen our foundation and position us to deliver long-term sustainable growth.”
