HP Launches Strategic Partnership with OpenAI

HP announced a strategic partnership with OpenAI to integrate the OpenAI Frontier platform into its business operations, with the goal of enhancing customer experiences and expanding the use of artificial intelligence across the company.

Under the partnership, HP plans to deploy AI capabilities across customer- and partner-facing services, employee productivity tools, software development, and customer telemetry analysis through its Workforce Experience Platform (WXP).

According to HP, it is among the first global enterprises to adopt the Frontier platform as part of a company-wide AI transformation initiative. The company said additional use cases will be developed as the partnership progresses.

The partnership follows an evaluation period that began in February 2026, during which HP tested the Frontier platform through pilot projects. According to the company, the assessment covered technical capabilities, agent-based AI features, platform components, security, enterprise integration, and alignment with HP’s business priorities.

Following the evaluation, HP said it selected OpenAI based on its assessment of the company’s AI models and roadmap for agent-based systems. The companies plan to collaborate on additional enterprise AI use cases while emphasizing data integration, governance, and security.

HP said it views AI as an increasingly important component of its internal operations and customer offerings. The company plans to incorporate AI into business workflows to support automation and operational efficiency.

As part of its broader strategy, HP is developing AI-enabled devices designed to integrate with enterprise workflows. The company said it is also building systems with dedicated hardware intended to support continuous execution of AI workloads.
