Former Official Charged for Cartridge Defrauding

Wyoming County 911 Center has lost nearly $93,000 due to a cartridge theft crime.

According to thetimes.com, the center only uses one cartridge a year. However, Debra Raimondi of New Milford ordered more than 1,200 printer ink cartridges for the Center during her position.

Raimondi ordered 1,252 ink cartridges worth of $92,794.46 over four years from Kelly Printing in Las Vegas, Nevada. In return, Kelly offered Raimondi 4% cash back in form of Walmart gift cards. Police found that Raimondi had received four such gift cards from 2009 to 2013, totaling $7,715.35.

The massive discrepancy led Raimondi to be charged with three accuses: theft by unlawful taking, theft by failure to make required disposition of funds, and theft by deception.
