Corporate Consumables ceases trading

One of New Zealand’s larger suppliers of office products, Corporate Consumables, has ceased trading, releasing the following statement via their official website:

“Corporate Consumables Ltd ceased trading as of 12.00pm on Friday the 22nd of December.

Unfortunately, a number of factors have combined to create a situation where Corporate Consumables in its current state is unsustainable as a business. The decision to cease trading is not a decision that has been taken lightly. Over the last 12 months the Directors, management and their advisors have explored every possible option to keep the company trading and return it to profitability.

We will be proactively managing any outstanding business from the 8th January 2018, to ensure the orderly wind down of the company.

We have very much valued the relationship and support all our customers and suppliers have provided Corporate Consumables over the years. The Directors and management of Corporate Consumables would like to thank you for your business and wish you all every success in your future endeavors.”

According to stuff.co.nz,an industry source has revealed the 27-year-old Wellington-based firm employed about 50 staff and had an annual turnover of about US$30 million.

Beside its Wellington office, it also had offices in Auckland, Dunedin, Nelson, Christchurch and Tauranga.

Its withdrawal from the market may have wider implications in a sector which is still reeling from an accounting scandal at Fuji Xerox NZ.
