Cartridge World’s New CEO Talks About Mergers and Acquisitions

The print consumables industry has been abuzz—yet again—with talk about mergers and acquisitions (M&As).The acquisition of the US-based Static Control by China-based Apex in May was followed with another China-based company, SGT, becoming the major shareholder of the global Cartridge World store network. It caught many by surprise.

Academic studies reveal more than 60 percent of all acquisitions fail, and most executives involved in M&As emphasize that integration problems and cultural clashes can be fierce, disruptive, and persistent.

Big Acquisitions Can Fall Apart Over Tiny Details

In August 2015, the Board of Cartridge World Global Holdings announced that following the recent acquisition of the Cartridge World global group, Mr. Steve Weedon (left) had been appointed Global Chief Executive Officer of Cartridge World and also CEO of Cartridge World North America.

As a 40 year veteran of the imaging industry—with senior roles at Nashua, Katun Corp, Kalle Infotec, Gestetner, Static Control and now Cartridge World—Weedon will share his opinions and vision at the RT Imaging Summit—Asia 2015: Post M&As: How do company staff make the transition—across different countries, cultures & business models?
