Cartridge World’s New CEO Talks About Mergers and Acquisitions

The print consumables industry has been abuzz—yet again—with talk about mergers and acquisitions (M&As).The acquisition of the US-based Static Control by China-based Apex in May was followed with another China-based company, SGT, becoming the major shareholder of the global Cartridge World store network. It caught many by surprise.

Academic studies reveal more than 60 percent of all acquisitions fail, and most executives involved in M&As emphasize that integration problems and cultural clashes can be fierce, disruptive, and persistent.
