Canon Takes Legal Action in France

Canon has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in France before the Paris First Instance Court. The OEM says Zephyr SAS—whose trade name is Green Eco—and Aster Graphics Company Limited have infringed Canon’s European patent Number 2 087 407.

As was revealed, Zephyr SAS and Aster Graphics has infringed Canon’s patent by inter alia, the importation, offer and sale of certain toner cartridges for use in various models of HP laser beam printers.

Canon notes it “respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals and expects others to do the same”. Also, it will keep taking legal action to protect its intellectual property rights.
