Canon Responds to General Exclusion Order of ITC

On July 3, Canon announced the issuance of a General Exclusion Order (GEO) by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in Investigation No. 337-TA-829 (Read more).

Commenting on the ITC action, Seymour Liebman, Senior Executive Officer of Canon and Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel of Canon USA declared, “Canon is pleased that the ITC has granted this GEO, and believes that it will go a long way in preventing the widespread infringement that we have seen. Canon expects the industry to respect the GEO, and expects everyone to cease any importations of infringing products.”

Canon said it respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals, and expects others to respect Canon’s intellectual property rights. Further, the company said that it will remain committed to pursuing legal enforcement against patent infringement.
