Brother to Launch A4 Color Printers with Seven-Year Durability

Brother announced that it will launch four new A4 color laser printers and multifunction devices in late February, all designed to deliver a seven-year product durability lifecycle despite their compact form factor.

To support extended use, Brother will also introduce ultra-high-capacity toner cartridges, allowing longer operation between replacements and contributing to reduced maintenance effort and waste generation. The company said the initiative reflects its ongoing efforts to minimize environmental impact associated with product replacement and consumable disposal.

Seven-Year Durability Design

The new models have passed Brother’s internal durability tests designed to simulate seven years of use under demanding conditions. These include heat stress testing to accelerate component degradation, as well as repeated mechanical operation tests focused on frequently used parts such as covers and control panels.

Ultra-High-Capacity Toner

Select models support ultra-high-capacity toner cartridges capable of printing approximately 10,000 pages per replacement. By extending toner life, the company aims to reduce replacement frequency and lower the volume of discarded cartridges.

Compact Design and Front Operation

Compared with previous models, the new devices reduce overall body size by approximately 28%. Despite being color multifunction devices, all models feature a compact footprint and adopt front-access operation, allowing toner replacement, paper loading, and output handling from the front, making them suitable for space-constrained environments.

Enhanced Core Functions

All four models support high-speed printing at approximately 31 pages per minute for both color and monochrome output. First-print time has been shortened by around five seconds compared with previous models, improving workflow efficiency for high-volume printing.

Selected multifunction models also support single-pass duplex scanning, enabling simultaneous scanning of both sides of a document. Scanned data can be uploaded directly to cloud services such as Google Drive and Box without the use of a PC. All models are equipped with touch panels, while the flagship MFC-L8970CDW features a 7-inch display for enhanced visibility and operability.

Support and Service Programs

Brother is expanding its after-sales support through extended warranty programs and optional fixed-fee maintenance services of up to seven years. In addition, registered users can participate in a point-based rewards program, allowing points to be accumulated through product use and redeemed for everyday shopping benefits.
