Brother has released its financial results for fiscal year 2024, reporting record-high sales revenue and other significant growth.Brother Reports Record-High Results for FY2024

Most notably, Brother achieved record sales revenue of JPY 876.6 billion, up 6.5% year-on-year. This impressive result was attributed to multiple factors, including steady sales of hardware and consumables in the Printing Solutions segment and the positive effects of foreign exchange rates. Business segment profit also benefited from these changes and amounted to JPY 77.7 billion, up 2.8%. All other profit metrics experienced growth of up to 73.1%.

In the Printing Solutions segment, sales of inkjet devices saw stronger demand, while those for laser equipment declined, mainly due to sluggish markets in Europe. Consumables sales remained relatively stable after price adjustments. For labeling devices, although lower sales were recorded in home and office models, commercial and industrial models managed to maintain solid performance.

Despite the robust performance in 2024, Brother holds a pessimistic outlook for 2025 due to the negative effects of a stronger yen and U.S. tariff policies. Consequently, forecasts for 2025 have been adjusted downward to levels similar to the previous year. Sales revenue is projected to be JPY 875 billion, down 0.2%, and business segment profit is projected at JPY 75 billion, down 3.5%. By implementing ongoing strategies, the company expects to limit the negative impact of U.S. tariffs to approximately JPY 5 billion.
