The company’s Personal Systems division remained the main growth driver, with revenue reaching US$9.9 billion, up 6% year-over-year. Both consumer and commercial segments contributed, rising 8% and 5% respectively. In contrast, the Printing division generated US$4.0 billion, reflecting a 4% decline compared with the prior year.

The revenue contraction in Printing was broad-based, with consumer printing revenue down 8%, commercial printing down 3%, and supplies down 4%. Hardware sales also fell, dropping 9% overall as both consumer and commercial unit volumes declined.

Operating momentum nonetheless supported profitability. HP reported GAAP diluted net earnings per share of US$0.80, a sharp increase from US$0.65 a year earlier. Non-GAAP diluted net EPS came in at US$0.75, slightly below last year’s US$0.84 but within guidance.

“In Q3 we delivered a fifth consecutive quarter of revenue growth, driven by strength in Personal Systems and strong momentum in our key growth areas,” said Enrique Lores, President and CEO of HP Inc. “These results demonstrate our agility and focused execution in the quarter, reinforce the strength of our strategy, and our commitment to be a leader in the future of work.”

Looking ahead, HP forecast fourth-quarter GAAP diluted net EPS between US$0.75 and US$0.85, with non-GAAP EPS projected between US$0.87 and US$0.97.
