Xerox to Create 700 Jobs in Texas

Xerox officials are planning to create 700 new call center jobs in Texas — 400 in San Antonio and another 300 in Houston — to support an undisclosed retail client that is gearing up for the busy holiday shopping season.

Applicants must have six months of call center experience or equivalent customer service experience.

Beginning Saturday, Aug. 1, Xerox will hire 175 permanent positions. In September, Xerox will begin a second wave of hiring for 525 temporary positions between the two offices that will last through in the first quarter of 2016. Hiring will continue through Nov. 17.

Norwalk, Connecticut-based Xerox (NYSE: XRX) may be known for being a document management company, but the company is also a leader in the call center outsourcing industry. Xerox employs 50,000 agents in 175 customer care centers. The company also employs 6,000 people in Texas.
