Xerox Endows Separated Companies with New Names

Xerox has declared the names of the companies resulting from its split. The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company will be “Conduent, Inc.” while the Document Technology company will continue to be known as “Xerox Corporation”.

According to Xerox, the BPO’s new name comes from its expertise in connecting clients and their constituents through transactions in customer care, transportation solutions, and healthcare payer and provider services. Conduent also demonstrates the new company’s partnership with enterprises and governments and the aim to provide satisfaction to its clients.

The chairman and CEO of Xerox, Ursula Burns stated, “Conduent will begin its next chapter as a standalone company with a name that conveys the vital business we conduct every day. Conduent is well-positioned to build on its strong heritage as a leader in business process services and will carry forward the values and culture of innovation, diversity and integrity from Xerox.”

Conduent will be a Fortune 500 company, with around $7 billion in revenue in 2015 and 96,000 employees around the world, specializing in transaction-intensive processing, analytics and automation.  Its businesses will be relevant to millions of people in the U.S. and occupy the second-largest market share in the BPO industry.

The other company will retain the brand name of Xerox. It will remain as a Fortune 500 scale company. This separated company has earned a revenue of roughly $11 billion in 2015 and has approximately 39,000 employees. Its main businesses include a wide range of hardware, software and services, supporting various sized governments and commercial enterprises.
