Toner Cartridge Revenues Record Growth in Western Europe

The OEM and compatible toner cartridge revenues across Western European distribution registered a 2% and 6% year-on-year growth, respectively, in the first 22 weeks of 2014.

CONTEXT, the European IT market research company, stated that the increase in OEM toner cartridge revenue was attributed to the Average Selling Prices (ASPs), which marked up 5% year-on-year, though the distribution sales fell 3% year-on-year. Moreover, it’s noted that Xerox registered the highest year-on-year unit sales growth of 32% among OEMs and a significant increase in revenues. However, HP saw 7% and 3% year-on-year declines in unit sales and revenues, respectively. Plus, HP expects soft toner sales to continue in Europe for the rest of the year.

The ASPs of compatible toner cartridge distributed across the area decreased 9% in 2014 year to date, which results in 16% and 6% growth respectively in unit sales and revenues.

In terms of vendor market share, HP ranked the first with 46% in original toner category, followed by Samsung with 17%.Lexmark and Brother grasped a share of 8% each in 2014 year to date.
