Static Control Supports PACTO in Fight Against Clones

Static Control Components, Inc. announced it will support the Italian association Produttori Associati Cartucce Toner (PACTO) in its fight against cloned cartridge manufacturers. PACTO contains members from Sapi, Microlaser Italia, Tecnolaser Europa and Eco-Recuperi.

Associates of PACTO met at Static Control headquarters in March to discuss their goals. The discussion focused mainly on raising government awareness of the industry and its fight against new build/clone manufacturers. The group also seeks to promote awareness among the general public of the positive and green contributions from the remanufacturing industry.

Said Ken Lalley, Static Control’s European Vice President of Sales, “We are delighted to support PACTO. And we will work with them together in our ETIRA, the I-ITC, UCKRA in the UK, ABRECI in Brazil and CAMOCA in Argentina. The emerging clone issue is really a threat to our industry. However, through cooperation, we will be able to strengthen our position and safeguard our future. Static Control will continue to support any association which would like to join the genuine remanufacturers across the world for fighting against the clones.” Static Control will only sell to genuine cartridge remanufacturers and will not sell to manufacturers of new build/clone ink or laser cartridges.

PACTO, set up in 2009, aims to promote any initiative that helps to support the development and progress of the Italian remanufacturing industry. As one of the latest cartridge associations, PACTO is accelerating its efforts to differentiate itself from new build/clone manufacturers. According to their statement, genuine remanufacturers now hold a 10% share of the 8-9 million unit cartridge market in Italy, while the Italian government accounts for nearly 3 million of the total market sales.
