Ricoh Showcases Solutions for Paperless Healthcare

Ricoh Canada introduced healthcare solutions at the e-Health 2013 Conference and Exhibition, which was held May 26 to May 29, 2013 at the Ottawa Convention Centre. The company’s healthcare solution set is designed to help healthcare organizations use EHR (electronic healthcare records) investments and make progress with the “Paperless Maturity Roadmap”. Ricoh showcased their healthcare Multifunctional Printers at the event.

The “Paperless Maturity Roadmap”, designed by Ricoh’s healthcare working group, helps providers know how to reduce paper consumption. It can also help address the operational inefficiencies presenting some of the most critical challenges in healthcare today.

One of Ricoh’s solutions permits healthcare providers to easily attach a loose sheet to a patient’s record in real time. Providers can scan the documents on a workgroup MFP and use the software to manage the electronic data in HL7-CDA, which is the standard language for exchange of healthcare industry information. The software will be able to attach the documents to the correct patient record. The prototype of this solution is available on a Ricoh MFP now.

Mr. Eric Fletcher, Vice President of Marketing at Ricoh Canada, said, “Our solutions can help any provider improve efficiency, advance their EHR agenda, and measurably improve organizational performance.”
