Since 2014, Ricoh Asia Pacific relaunched the campaign with a new theme: “Green the Red Dot, Join the Movement”, to call on businesses, schools and the wider public to join the national movement to green Singapore, also known as the “little red dot”, by pledging simple actions to reduce energy and resource consumption in the office, school and at home, thereby minimise the carbon emission. It hopes that by encouraging simple acts such as conserving energy, reducing waste and raising environmental awareness, it will help the wider public ingrain these actions into daily life.

“We are very happy and motivated to be recognized for our efforts in running this campaign. It had a humble beginning of only 18 participating organisations back then in 2007, but today, more than 700 organisations has participated in this movement for the good cause of the environment. As the largest and longest running business-led environmental awareness initiative in Singapore, we hope that Eco Action Day can accelerate the awareness of the importance of conserving energy and resources so as to reduce the carbon emissions across different sectors nationwide and help Singapore along the sustainable development path to become a smart, eco-friendly city with a ‘zero-waste’ culture and a flourishing green economy by 2030.”, Mr. Kasamoto expressed his joy continues.
