Ricoh Appoints New CEO

Yoshinori Yamashita is succeeding Zenji Miura to be the new CEO and president of Ricoh Company of Japan, as reported by WirthConsulting.org.

Yamashita joined Ricoh in 1980. He has taken different executive jobs since 2008. Currently, he serves as a Ricoh director and deputy president along with his role as the general manager of Ricoh’s Business Solutions Group.

Zenji Miura is resigning as representative director, CEO and president to become a corporate executive advisor, effective April 1, 2017. Another representative director – Shiro Kondo will also resign but remaining chairman and member of Ricoh Board of Directors. Nobuo Inaba will be the chairman of the Ricoh Board, replacing Shiro Kondo as of April 1, 2017.

Ricoh also reported that the company is tackling changes in business environment such as decline in growth of office printing. The OEM has suffered from declining profits during the past few years. The company believes the strengthened Japanese yen has negatively influenced its products by making products sold outside Japan less competitive on price.
