Relying Less on Paper?

600 IT decision makers say that despite the move to digital processes in the workplace, many are not ready for it.

Xerox conducted the survey with the IT participants from organizations in the United States, Canada, as well as Western Europe (Benelux, France, Germany and UK).

According to the “Digitization at Work” report from Xerox, respondents predicted only 9% of key business operations will rely on paper by 2018. However, more than 55% of the respondents noted their organizations still rely, largely or entirely, on paper. Plus, around 29% still prefer communicating with end customers by paper than using emails or social media channels.

Andy Jones, Vice President of Workflow Automation, Large Enterprise Operations at Xerox, said, “Organizations foresee a lean and agile digital future but current business processes are still weighed down by paper. The disconnect between an organization’s vision and the steps required to achieve successful digital transformation has stalled the promise of digitization.”
