Recycling Promoted in Lima, Peru

Two stores in Lima, Peru, are offering credits to local residents who bring in empty printer cartridges.

Dave and Bob Fett opened the two Cartridge World stores in 2009 in two locations in Lima, with 6 employees but have now started a campaign to educate the local population that cartridge recycling will save money as well as the environment.

Apart from collecting the used ink and toner cartridges, the two stores also clean and refill them again, preventing them from being tossed in a landfill. They proudly demonstrate their electronic testing to ensure the refilled cartridge will work in a printer.
