Printing Solutions Weakened in Q3 of 2016

Epson has released the financial income and expenditure of the third quarter in 2016.

According to Epson, its total revenue in Q3 of 2016 has dropped 16.1 billion yen (US$0.14 billion), decreasing 5.5% in comparison with the same period last year. The entire profit of Q3 is 28.4 billion yen (US$0.25 billion), reducing about 2% compared with the same period in 2015.

In the business segment of the third quarter revenue, the printing solutions segment takes 192.3 billion yen (US$17.07 billion), seeing a 12.5% year-over-year decline. The section of printers within the printing solutions segment has dropped by 9.8 billion yen (US$8.7 million) in comparison with the same period of 2015, while the sales of inkjet printers have witnessed an year-on-year increase of 3%, owing to the expansion of high-capacity ink tank printer shipments in North American market.

Epson’s business profit of the third quarter in 2016 has experienced a 4.1 billion yen (US$36.4 million) year-on-year decrease. With performance of each business and Q3 business situation considered for the full-year outlook, Epson’s revenue and business profit on a constant currency basis are the same as the previous outlook according to its report.
