Patent Infringement Suit Goes On

Canon files another patent infringement suit in Italy.

According to its announcement, the defendant is J&H Greentech & Trading Ltd. (“J&H”), a British company operating business under the name of “Prestige Cartridge”. J&H offers and sells toner cartridges, available in various models for use in Canon and HP laser beam printers, and is allegedly infringing the Canon’s patent 2 087 407 in Italy. The OEM also submitted a request for preliminary injunction and seizure of infringing products against J&H, as well as injunctive relief and damages.

Canon asserts that it respects the intellectual property rights of other companies and individuals and expects others to do the same. They are determined to take legal action against anyone who does not respect its intellectual property rights.
