According to Wirth Consulting, Dell announced it is exiting the printer business. As a result of the continued declined of printing industry, the company decided to transit their customers from Dell-branded laser printers and accessories to a partner-led imaging portfolio. They will sell other-branded printers instead.

Wirth Consulting reported that Dell will begin the transition in May and will complete the transition by the end of July 2018. But it will continue to serve customers who own Dell-branded printers with the latest printing solutions, including firmware updates and Dell-branded consumables, and provide customer support for Dell laser printers under warranty.
