New Printers Win Good Design Award 2016

Novel printers of a global leading manufacturer of document imaging solutions and document management systems have won the Good Design Award 2016.

According to Kyocera, its awarded series of printers include new A4 MFPs, ECOSYS M5526cdw, ECOSYS P5026cdw, ECOSYS M2640idw, and ECOSYS P2040dw printers. Those printers possess simple and compact design, low-noise operations, and a toner cartridge that is easily replaceable. Besides, a plain exterior is featured in the external appearance of the printers to reduce the protrusions on their casing.

In order to fit into the office environment, Kyocera has shortened I/O waiting times of its printers to improve productivity. With standard wireless LAN functionality, flexible installation of the printers become possible. A remote management tool with abundant functions, including batch settings for multiple MFPs and printers can simplify customers’ maintenance work.

The judges of the Good Design Award stated, “The entire design, including operability and ease of maintenance, is well considered to ensure smooth documentation-related tasks.”

The Good Design Award is held by the Japan Institute for Design Promotion to pick good designs out of various design works.
