More Mini Printers

An Israeli company has developed a new mobile printer that can fit into your pocket.

With a width and height of about ten centimeters Zuta Labs has simply put a printhead on a set of small wheels. According to Live Science, the mini-printer runs across a sheet of paper.

Zuta Labs has also provided a free app for users so that they are able to access the printer through a mobile device.

The new printer takes between 50 to 60 seconds to print an A4 page each with a resolution of 300 dpi. The printer uses a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, which can last for an hour allowing it to print about 60 pages. An ink cartridge in the printer can print over 100 pages.

The “omni-wheels” inside the printer allow it to move in any direction on a surface. Built-in laser sensors help to control the printer’s movement, speed and location.

The new printers are expected to hit store shelves at the beginning of 2017.
