Lexmark Tackles Document Security

Lexmark International has partnered with a data monitoring company to enhance document security.

Lexmark’s new partner, Intelligent ID, is an Ohio-based expert providing a software that secures companies’ business assets. Intelligent ID explained that two companies will jointly develop a full range of document and endpoint security solutions. Also, the solutions will protect the sensitive digital information copied or printed through a printer or multifunction-imaging device.

In addition, Intelligent ID will monitor data on company’s network, the user’s endpoint, or the Lexmark device itself either in real time or over a long period.

Allen Waugerman, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Lexmark, thinks the partnership will benefit not only the company but also the users. He commented that the companies want to provide not only secure data solutions against external forces, but also enable customers to monitor all users and devices within the company.

Jim Mazotas, founder and chief technology officer at Intelligent ID, invited people to imagine they are able to monitor print, copy, fax and scan documents in real time. Mazotas believes the partnership with Lexmark will allow users to monitor all users and devices within the company, solving insider threat potentials.
