Lexmark Presented With Buyers Lab Award

Lexmark International Ltd has been presented with a Buyers Lab PaceSetter award for Document Imaging Security. The awards, chosen by the analysts at Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab (BLI), were announced on July 20, 2017

The award recognizes Lexmark for high scores in nearly every category in the study, including security features on Lexmark single-function printers that generally match those found on its more advanced MFPs, experience and strength in securely tying printers and MFPs to workflow software and excellent device-management security features.

However, Lexmark scored highest in hardware areas such as device authentication and hard drive security, as well as in firmware and app integrity which is a challenging area for the entire industry.  Lexmark’s Markvision Enterprise device management software was also highly praised for the added security it provides.

Allen Waugerman, senior vice president and chief technology officer at Lexmark expressed his pride with the results and said “Lexmark makes full-spectrum security an integral part of all our products to protect customer information from internal and external threats,”

“Lexmark’s device security is second to none and includes advanced features such as a firmware integrity check at boot-up, BIOS integrity checking, intrusion detection and reporting, and much more,” said Jamie Bsales, director of Software Analysis at Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab. “It easily landed in the top tier among the 13 OEMs included in our study, which should give Lexmark purchasers peace of mind about the security of their output fleet.”
