Kyocera to Expand European HQ with New Inkjet Printhead Center

Kyocera announced plans to open a new inkjet printhead design center at the company’s European headquarters in Esslingen, Germany. The company noted the new center will offer technical support in the optimization of customers’ printing systems with Kyocera printheads. Also, the center will be available for customers to test and evaluate print quality under different conditions.

Shigeru Koyama, President of Kyocera’s European operations, said, “Our new center is one of the most advanced of its kind. We not only have highly specialized staff, but also the capacity to develop new inkjet technology applications.”

According to Kyocera, the piezo actuator—which is the core component in all Kyocera inkjet printheads—was developed through the company’s long history of technical expertise in fine ceramics since 1959.

Kyocera claims it now provides a long list of inkjet printhead solutions including the world’s fastest 300dpi printhead (which can provide simultaneous two-color printing with only one head) and the world’s fastest 1200×1200 dpi KJ4B printhead.

The company’s product portfolio also includes the KJ4A printhead for UV-curable ink, and the KJ4B for water-based ink both of which are world famous in terms of speed.
