Kyocera advances European strategy

Printing OEM Kyocera Document Solutions Europe has acquired its Czech Republic-based printing solutions firm Janus.

Janus was previously an international partner for Kyocera’s European division, operating as an authorised distribution partner within the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It will now become a sales company, operating under the name Kyocera Document Solutions Czech from 5 November.

The acquisition will continue to drive Kyocera’s expansion in EMEA, in this case, specifically Central and Eastern Europe.

Janus General Manager Jiří Hubený will continue to lead the company from its Prague office, as well as another branch in Bratislava. All 60 Janus employees will also be kept on.

Kyocera Document Solutions Europe President Takuya Marubayashi said: “With our newest subsidiary, customers within Central and Eastern Europe will experience enhanced business continuity and enjoy a closer relationship with Kyocera as a main global player. Under the guidance of Jiří Hubený, Kyocera will further build upon the company’s legacy within these important markets.”

Kyocera declined to disclose the financial details.
